There may be warmer months to go sailing, but it should still be warm enough to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine on a French quayside.
The particular pavement bar that comes to mind is but 200 metres from the Hypermarket - just the place to stock up the wine cellar for Christmas and, perhaps, do some early Christmas shopping.
We leave on a Friday with possibly a quick stop in Yarmouth depending on the tides. Arrival time and meals at Cherbourg will depend on weather, crew and tide. It should give us a few hours checking out the shops, cafes, restaurants and Hypermarket. Do your own thing for lunch in Cherbourg or a taxi ride to Barfleur or Omonville perhaps?
An evening in Cherbourg with the many bars and restaurants on the waterfront, and in the old town back streets is not to be missed.
